ولد سوليه في القاهرة عام 1946، ثم انتقل إلى فرنسا في سن 18 عاما. وقد شغل منصب أمين المظالم في صحيفة لوموند الباريسية .

تشمل أعماله الروائية "الطربوش" (الحائز على جائزة البحر الأبيض المتوسط ​​عام 1992) و "المملوكة" .
