Significance of the topic
Even though not com
prehensive and elaborat
ed, the design elem
ents and principles
described here can be an anal
yzing fram
e for web page design
. They can infor
m us where
to begin, what to probe, and how to analy
ze. For exam
ple designer who knows the design
elem
ents and principles can analy
ze the page in
term
s of line, color, m
ovem
ents, balance,
harm
ony, and so forth, while others are just thi
nking that it is appealing for them
or not.

This information can also give an expre
ssing tool to the web designer. A novelist can
express his or her thought us
ing language. A web page desi
gner also expresses their
thought or a certain intention
with elem
ents of des
ign and
does it effectively along with
the design principles. If a designer want to
say som
ething through the web page, than he
must use the elem
ents (line, color, etc) as
a communication tool. So it is very im
portant to
know the kinds and m
eanings of th
e design elements and principles.
Although color is one of the m
ost important design elem
ents, but I excluded the detail
descrip
tion of it, becaus
e color-related subjec

as already seized des

many designers, I think, alrea
dy know of it very much.
