(see update 2.0) أوسكار وايلد - كان أوسكار فينجال أوفلاهيرتي ويلز وايلد كاتبًا مسرحيًا وشاعرًا ومؤلفًا للعديد من القصص القصيرة ورواية واحدة. اشتهر بذكائه اللاذع ، ووفرة من الأمثال ، وأصبح واحدًا من أنجح الكتاب المسرحيين في أواخر العصر الفيكتوري في لندن ، وواحدًا من أعظم المشاهير في عصره. يستمر أداء العديد من مسرحياته على نطاق واسع ، وخاصة أهمية أن تكون جادًا .

نتيجة لسلسلة من المحاكمات التي تمت تغطيتها على نطاق واسع ، عانى وايلد من انهيار مأساوي وسُجن لمدة عامين مع الأشغال الشاقة بعد إدانته بارتكاب "مخالفات جسيمة" مع رجال آخرين. بعد إطلاق سراح وايلد من السجن ، أبحر إلى دييب بواسطة العبارة الليلية. لم يعد إلى أيرلندا أو بريطانيا ، وتوفي في فقر.
